Feast day celebrations started with the Holy Eucharist at 7.00 a.m. on Sunday the 12th July 2015. The members of the ward actively participated in the liturgy.
At 4.30 p.m. the members of the ward, sisters of Maryhill convent with the postulants, BalaYesuNilaya, Vijayamari Convent, brothers of Betharam Fathers’ seminary and the boys staying in the Care Home run by Betharam assembled in Maria Kripa. Sr. Ida Barboza, superior of Vijayamari lead the prayers. Mr.RoshanMontheiro conducted the games for everybody. Senior couple of our ward, Mr. Cyril D’ Souza and Mrs.Monthi D’ Souza shared the joy of their 80th and 75th birthday joy with the ward members by cutting the cake.
The stage programme started with the prayer dance by Riya D’ Souza and MinolaSaldanha. Postulants of Maryhill convent welcomed the gathering by their meaningful dance. Chief guest, Rev. Fr. Andrew D’ Souza with Rev.Fr. Jason Monis, Rev. Fr. Sterwin, Superior of Betharam Fathers at Maria Kripa, Mr.Henbert Pinto, Mr. Wilfred Alvares, vice president and secretary,respectively of parish council, Sr. Olivia from Maryhill Convent, Sr. Ida Barboza and Sr. Judith Mary, Superior of BalaYesuNilaya were on the dais. While welcoming the gathering by Ms.Felcy Miranda, children of the ward offered roses to the guests on the dais. Ms.ShailaSaldanha presented the annual report and the prizes were awarded to the winners in the games by the chief guest. Fr. Jason, Mr.Henbert Pinto and Mr. Wilfred Alvares gave call to the youngsters to more actively participate in the parish activities. The chief guest conveyed his message in a beautiful song written on the spot and mentioned about the blessings of three convents and one seminary in the ward and to gain the benefit in improving the spirituality. He also asked us to remain united always.
Children from the ward presented beautiful dances. Ms Rita Menezes expressed the meaning of bharatnatyam in her lovely dance. Betharam brothers and the boys from the Care Home displayed the maim show. A small skit was played by the ward members to conveyed the importance of family prayer.
All enjoyed the delicious meal sponsored by the birthday celebrators and left the place after the dance. The whole programme was compered by Miss. Alison Lobo methodically.
