The Evening Novena began with the Eucharistic celebration with the theme “Word of God – strength to Christian Life” the Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by Rev Fr. Lancy Rebello along with Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo, Rev. Fr. Leo Veigas, Rev. Fr. Ravi and  Rev. Fr. Ajay D’silva. Special prayers were offered for those who suffer for the love of Christ.

In the homily stressing on the aspect of forgiveness, Rev Fr. Lancy Rebello said, “As we forgive others so will God forgive us, there will be atrocities upon us but we have to forgive. Only those who are one with God, those who are strengthened by the Word of God have the courage and strength to forgive others from the heart.”

“Forgiving others is necessary because it’s a command of God, the saints followed this taking the example of the Christ crucified and it’s a call for us to follow the same. Let us strengthen our faith and imbibe the quality of forgiveness from Christ to forgive all those who do wrong against us” he said.

The choir was led by Derebail Parish Choir Group. Bread was served to all the devotees present for the novena.
