The Novena began with the Eucharistic celebration with the theme “Word of God – Strength to Christian Life”. The Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by Rev Fr. Ajith Rodrigues along with Rev. Fr. Andrew D’souza, Rev Fr. Charles, Rev. Fr. Valerian D’silva, Rev. Fr. Ajay D’silva and Rev Fr. Ravi. Special prayers were offered for those who suffer the love of Christ.

In the homily Rev Fr. Ajith D’souza highlighted the need for discipleship of Christ. “What does it mean to be living a life as a disciple of Christ? St Lawrence and St. John Mary Vianney who became the Disciples of Christ and showed a path for people towards Christ by their service and their strength in facing the problems that came in their way so should be our life too” he highlighted.

“The word of god should be like a sword which gives strength in times of tribulation. Lot of problems will come and strike us down but we have to be strong in Christ and spread the love of Christ. We have to be the walkie-talkies of Christ, where we hear the word of god, understand it and speak or talk about it” he said.

The Choir was led by Vamanjoor Parish Choir Group. Lunch was offered to all the devotees who had come for the novena.
