The Annual Feast of St Lawrence began at 10 am which was celebrated by Bishop Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shimoga along with Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Leo Veigas, Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo, Rev. Fr. Petere Norohna, Rev. Fr. Anil, Rev. Fr. Ajay, and  Rev. Fr. Stervin were present.

The theme of the feast was, “Be a Witness to the Word of God like St. Lawrence”.

In the homily Rev. Fr. Anil said, “The Word of God is of peace, whenever we listen to it we get peace and solace. It also increases our faith if we read it and believe in it. St Lawrence also preached the same and he gave his life and testified the Word of God by saying that the people are the treasures of God, and he stored treasures in heaven. We have to store treasures in heaven, and when we listen to the Word of God, live it and preach it, only then we can be the true missionaries of Christ and witnesses to the Word of God and store treasures.”

“In this year dedicated to Small Christian Communities, let us start witnessing Christ in our small communities, by testifying Christ, sharing the Word of God to all the people in our communities. But before we do so, we have to understand the Word, have our own bible and read the commentaries on them and then share to the world the beauty, the strength, the power, the solace, the love of the Word of God. Let our patron St Lawrence bless us and may he intercede for us to give the strength to proclaim the Word of God.” He said.

Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza Thanked the Devotees for coming in huge number and wished all the devotees a happy feast. Holy candles were given to the sponsors and well-wishers for the feast. Bread was distributed to all the devotees who were present for the Feast.
