Catechism day celebrated at Bondel on 27th Feb 2022Catechism Day was celebrated on Sunday February 27 2022 at St Lawrence Church, Bondel The day commenced with a Eucharistic celebration led by Rev Fr Rupesh Tauro Asst Parish Priest/ catechism Director, along with catechism teachers, children, parents and parishioners. The liturgy was led by the children of the parish. The children’s choir added to the solemnity of the service. In his homily, Fr Rupesh Tauro cited Top 3 Powerful Ways To Get Closer To God Spiritually , Children should attend Mass because it’s our loving response to the God who has loved us first, 1.Read God’s word together-When you read the scriptures as a family, you will invite God’s Spirit to be in your home. 2.Serve others together -Perform small acts of service together as a family. 3 Parents teach good values-As a parent, it’s your responsibility to teach your children good values and principles. Teach your children about God and Jesus Christ. Help them understand the difference between right and wrong. Good values lead to good choices, and good choices always lead to God. Soon after the mass a short programme was held at St Lawrence English Medium school hall organised by The Holy Bible and the Catechism Commission of Bondel Parish . The programme started with an invocation prayer song by the students of 9th Std followed by lighting of the Lamp. Denith Rodrigues welcomed the gathering Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves in his presidential address expressed his encouraging words and support to the children, he appreciated the efforts of the catechism teachers and the coordinators in imparting biblical truths in Sunday classes. Rev.Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza Parish Priest, expressed his encouraging words and support to the children.‘No good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit; for each tree is known by its own fruit.Parents be good trees to your children.Rev Fr Rupesh Tauro in his speech thanked the Catechism Coordinator Ms Lavina Menezes & Secretary Juliana Pereira and all teachers for their selfless service to children of the parish.The Director of The Holy Bible and the Catechism Commission Mr Santhosh Misquith was present.A glimpse of the reflection of catechism classes was shared by Jeslin Ninora 10th Std Student & Glen D’Silva from YCS. The program sequenced the felicitation for all the catechism teachers for their whole hearted services. The children were distributed prizes for securing highest marks in the exam.The compere Anvila D’Souza & Alvern Menezes from Std 8. began the programme with some wonderful introductory words. Alriya D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks.
