To mark the prayerful season of Lent, ICYM & Revelations Choir Group organized a Taize Prayer Service on Saturday 2nd April 2022 at 6 p.m in the St Lawrence Church Bondel.Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza Parish Priest & Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves -Director ICYM were present. Many youth & parishioners experienced the warmth of God’s love through a prayerful service.Taize prayer was a unique way to worship God and it was a graceful experience for the youth of the Bondel.Taizé is a monastic community located in Taizé, France, founded in the 1940s by a Swiss named Roger Louis Schütz-Marsauche, familiarly called Brother Roger. A Taizé worship service involves song and chanted prayers, meditation, a period of silence, liturgical readings, and icons. There is no preaching. The style of prayer practiced at Taizé has attracted many worshipers from around the globe and from many different denominations. The prayers consist of “short chants, repeated again and again,” according to an introduction in a Taizé songbook. “The words are sung over many times.”
