Ward feast celebrated at Carmel Ward on 17th July 2022 . They honoured their patron Mount Carmel by a meaningful liturgy on Saturday 16th July at 5 p.m. mass and thanked God Almighty for His blessings. Festal celebration took place at Mount Carmel School Hall on Sunday 17th July 2022 at 4 .00 p.m. The programme began with a prayer invoking Gods Blessings.MS Philomena Pinto (Ward Representative ) welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza Parish Priest , Rev Fr Vipin –Betharam Community , Parish Pastoral Secretary Sri Steevan Noronha , Sr Anita Maria A.C – Superior Vijay Mari Convent , Sr Rosima A.C Superior – Bala Yesu Convent, Sr Juliana A.C Superior Maryhill convent, Sr Florine Pinto –Veronica Nivas , Ina Pereira ward representative were present during this programme. Mr. & Mrs. Cyril Monthi D’Souza on the occasion of Diamond Jubilee, Smt Maria Rodrigues National level Athlete were felicitated along with achievers of SSLC , PUC & Degree board exams distinction students during this occasion.
Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza in his address said we are all called to reflect on the examples and the faith that Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel has shown in her own life, in her commitment to God and all that she had done as part of her mission and ministry, in loving her Son, our Lord and Saviour, and not only that, but after He entrusted each and every one of us to be His mother’s own children, he expressed his joy and pride over the achievement of the ward members.
Parish Pastoral Secretary Sri Steevan Noronha appreciated the ward people for their unity at all level in the ward as well as in the parish.
Various activities like dance, skit & song by ward members, Bible skit , Marian dance and filmy dance by Yesu Nilaya Children, Dance & Marian Song by Betharam Brothers, Dance by Veronica Nivas Children were organized.Riona D’Silva compered the programme and Mrs Falvia D’Souza proposed the formal vote of thanks.160 ward members were present.
