Catholic Sabha, Bondel unit celebrated Teachers’ Day at Bondel Church Mini hall on 4th sept 2022
The programme began at 8.30 a.m. with a prayer invoking Gods Blessings. Mr. Henbert Pinto Vice President Catholic Sabha -Bondel Unit welcomed the gathering. Catholic Sabha Members led the prayer service. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest Mrs. Agnes Dotty Monteiro said that Teachers must try to provide a strong foundation and thus enable students to spread their wings as responsible citizens of the future. Every teacher should have 4 Skills Needed for Teaching reading, listening, writing and speaking, education the most important step in the development of the country. Education is the most empowering force in the world. It creates knowledge, builds confidence, and breaks down barriers to opportunity.

Dr Valerian Rodrigues an Indian political scientist in his resourceful talk he mentioned the educational tools for a teacher, to build a good relationship with students and to bring out their hidden talents to make them society oriented persons rather than self oriented. Teachers are the ones who educate their students on how to lead a good life. The felicitation to teachers is the reminder to teachers that they have many more responsibilities towards their students and the society at large, he said.
Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves Principal St Lawrence Eng. Med. School in his message, greeted the teachers and appreciated their hard work, perseverance and fortitude and spotlighted on the saying ‘Mother is the First Teacher and Teacher is the Second Mother’ and shared his thoughts and reflections on ‘The Role of a Teacher’

Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza Parish Priest, Mr. Henbert Pinto ,Mr. Alwyn D’Souza –Secretary-Catholic Sabha, Mr. Steevan Noronha Secretary -Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Colin Miranda, Mr. Wilfred Alvares were present on the dais.A token of love and appreciation was presented to all the Teachers by the Catholic Sabha- More than 125 Teachers were present for this programmeMr. Melwin Crasta compered the programme and Mr. Wilfred Alvares proposed the vote of thanks.
