The Feast of the Sacred Heart was solemnly and joyfully celebrated by the ward members, reflecting deep devotion and unity.
The spiritual observance began with a Thanksgiving Mass on Saturday, 28th July at 5:00 PM, where the ward members came together in faith, taking active part in the liturgy with heartfelt devotion.”
The ward feast celebration was held on 6th July at the St Lawrence Church Hall, beginning at 6:00 PM with a heartfelt prayer service led by Mayzita Pinto and group. The event was formally inaugurated by the esteemed guests through the symbolic lighting of the lamp, signifying the presence of Christ, the Light of the World. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance, which added a vibrant cultural touch and set a joyful tone for the evening.
The formal stage program commenced with a warm and cordial welcome address by the Ward Gurkarn, Mrs Cynthia Fernandes. This was followed by the presentation of the Annual Report by Ward Representative, Mrs Jeneview Pinto, who outlined the ward’s spiritual journey, social initiatives, and community-building efforts undertaken throughout the past year.
Rev.Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza -Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves-Principal, St. Lawrence English Medium School , Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha Asst Parish Priest , along with Mr John D’Silva -Vice President, Mr Santhosh Misquith Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council Mr Onil Lobo-Convener, Small Christian Community , Mrs Cynthia Fernandes- Ward Gurkarn , Ward Representatives Mrs Jeneview Pinto, and Mr Nithesh Pinto graced the occasion with their presence. The priests shared thoughtful and inspiring feast messages, emphasizing the values of faith, love, unity, and active participation in parish life.
The celebration continued with lively and entertaining games that sparked laughter and fostered a spirit of togetherness among the ward members. Winners were felicitated with prizes, encouraging enthusiastic participation. The evening came alive with a vibrant cultural program, skillfully compered by Mrs Jeneview Pinto and Ms Anusha Pinto, featuring delightful performances by children and ward members that added color, joy, and energy to the celebration.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms Joylin Pinto, expressing deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration. The evening came to a joyful close with a fellowship dinner, where ward members gathered not just to share a meal, but to celebrate the spirit of unity, gratitude, and faith that binds them together.
