On August 16th the parishioners of St Lawrence Church, Bondel, together with Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St. Lawrence English Medium School, Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha, and Bro Joel, set out on a blessed spiritual journey, a true Pilgrimage of Hope.
On our way, we first visited Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Thirthahalli, where we sought the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother. Strengthened by prayer, we continued our journey to the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, Harihar.
On arrival at Harihar, we were warmly welcomed by Rev. Fr George K.A., Rector of the Basilica. The solemn Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha, concelebrated by Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves . During the Mass, heartfelt prayers were offered for all the pilgrims, their families, and the parish community. After Mass, the priest Rev.Fr Richard Mascarenhas Asst Priest specially prayed over all the pilgrims and invoked God’s blessings, which was a deeply moving spiritual experience for everyone.
We also visited the Apparition Chapel, the sacred site where Mother Mary appeared to a Brahmin devotee, and prayed at his tomb, which stands as a testimony of faith and divine grace. Fr Richard also gave a brief introduction about the forthcoming Annual Feast of Our Lady of Health, to be held in September.
This pilgrimage, in the Year of Hope, reminded us that Mother Mary is truly our Hope and Strength. We returned with grateful hearts, spiritually renewed and filled with faith, entrusting ourselves and our families to the loving care of our Heavenly Mother.
This spiritual journey was graced with the participation of 145 faithful pilgrims from Bondel Parish.
