On Wednesday, 27th August, the Small Christian Community (SCC) Group of Bondel visited Snehadeep Orphanage at Pachanady, Bondel, in the evening. The members were warmly welcomed by Mrs Tabassum, who graciously received them and introduced the centre and its activities.
Joining the group were Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St Lawrence English Medium School, and Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest.
Fr Peter Gonsalves highlighted that the purpose of the visit was to share love, bring joy to the children, and gain a deeper understanding of their life at the orphanage
During the visit, the SCC members interacted with the children, donated groceries, and spent valuable time with them. The atmosphere was filled with joy, smiles, and a spirit of togetherness. The visit not only brought happiness to the children but also inspired the members to appreciate the values of compassion, gratitude, and sharing. It was truly a heartwarming experience that strengthened the bond of care and unity within the community.
Mr Onil Lobo, convenor of the SCC Group, proposed the vote of thanks, sincerely appreciating the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the visit. Although Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, the Parish Priest, could not be present, he expressed his affection by sending sweets for the children, adding sweetness to the occasion. The visit was thoughtfully coordinated by Mr Melvin Mascarenhas. Around 20 members of the SCC Group participated, making the visit a truly memorable and heartwarming experience that left a lasting impression on both the children of Sneha Deep Orphanage and the visiting members.
