On the 7th day of the Novena leading up to the Feast of St. Lawrence, a solemn gathering was held at Bondel Church in Mangalore. The theme for the day was “The Pure and humble Prayer, God always pleases With.” devotees assembled at 5:30 p.m. for an adoration service led by Rev.Fr. Patrick Sequeira Parish Priest Bellur, who also served as the main celebrant of the Mass Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Melwin Pinto, Rev.Fr Theo Pinto were the concelebrants.

In his homily, Rev. Fr Patrick Sequeira reflected on the 8 Beatitudes delivered by Jesus during his sermon on the Mount, emphasizing how the evening’s theme ties into these teachings. He explained that true humility and purity in prayer bring us closer to God, especially when we detach from worldly concerns and surrender ourselves entirely to Him. He highlighted four essential aspects of spiritual life: mercy, prayer, forgiveness, and love. According to Fr Patrick Sequeira, prayer is a powerful force that strengthens both our individual and family lives, fostering a deep and humble relationship with God.

The liturgical celebration was enriched by a choir from Bejai Parish, under the leadership of Mr Ivan. Special prayers were offered for those who find challenging to maintain family prayer and for those separated from their families, highlighting the importance of unity and spiritual devotion within the home.
