On Thursday, January 15th, 2026, a vibrant Sports Day was organized by St Lawrence Church & Shrine for its altar servers. The young servers gathered at 3:00 p.m. in the church mini hall, where Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Director of the Altar Servers Association, led the opening prayer and extended his best wishes to the children for a day filled with fun, camaraderie, and friendly competition.
The indoor sports activities at St Lawrence English Medium School auditorium were organized in a way that brought excitement and friendly competition among the altar servers. The event featured a variety of indoor games, which could include activities like puzzles, relay races, or coordination challenges—games that not only test skills but also encourage cooperation and fun.
In addition to individual challenges, there were team-based games, which were thoughtfully conducted by Jeslin and her team. This shows that the organizers carefully planned the activities to ensure fairness, engagement, and smooth execution.
The altar servers actively participated with enthusiasm and energy, showing not just their competitiveness but also their team spirit, supporting and cheering for their group members. Their joy and excitement contributed to making the event lively, engaging, and memorable, creating happy memories for everyone involved.
At the conclusion, the animator Mrs Meena Barboza delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Parish Priest, for his constant support, Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St Lawrence English Medium School, for kindly allowing the use of the auditorium and school grounds, Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha , for his exceptional efforts in organizing the Sports Day and Jeslin and her team, for their impeccable coordination in conducting the games.
The children were delighted with a treat of ice cream, and the celebration concluded on a joyous note with the Altar Servers’ theme song. The day was a true celebration of teamwork, fun, and the spirit of service, leaving everyone with wonderful memories.
