On Sunday, 25 January 2026, Bible Sunday was celebrated with great devotion and reverence at St Lawrence Church & Shrine. A solemn procession was organized in which the children actively participated along with Rev. Fr. Vincent Vinod Saldanha, Manager of Codialbail Press.
The children carried the Holy Bible in their hands, symbolizing the passing on of faith and Sacred Scripture to the younger generation. The Bible was then reverently placed on the altar, adorned with a beautiful flower garland and incensed, highlighting the central role of the Word of God in Christian life.
The main celebrant of the Holy Mass was Rev. Fr. Vincent Vinod Saldanha. In his homily, he emphasized the importance of reading, understanding, and living according to the teachings of the Bible. He encouraged the faithful to make God’s Word a guiding light in their daily lives and a source of spiritual growth.
A beautifully decorated tree was placed near the altar, with the names of all the books of the Gospel gracefully displayed on its branches. This creative display helped the children to read, understand, and appreciate the 73 books of the Holy Bible.
The celebration inspired the entire parish community to renew their love for the Word of God and encouraged everyone to make Scripture an integral part of their personal and family prayer life.
