The Catholic Sabha Bondel Unit organized an Awareness and Information Programme on Voter ID Mapping and SIR on Sunday, 7th June, after the 7:00 a.m. Holy Mass, in the Church Mini Hall. A large number of Catholic faithful and Sabha members participated in the programme.

The session on Voter ID Mapping and SIR was conducted by Sr Lavina D’Silva, UMI, one of the BLO’S who explained the importance of voter registration, updating electoral details, and the significance of the SIR process.

An informative talk on the current political issues concerning the safeguarding of minority votes was delivered by Mr Joachim Stany Alvares, President of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy. He emphasized the need for awareness, active participation, and unity among the community in protecting their democratic rights.

During the Catholic Sabha monthly meeting, the members and office bearers extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Basil, who has assumed the role of the Spiritual Director of the Catholic Sabha. On behalf of all the members, he was felicitated with a shawl, garland, and flower bouquet as a mark of love, respect, and gratitude.

As part of the monthly gathering, all members who celebrated their birthdays during the month were honoured with a rose. The Catholic Sabha members joined together in extending their heartfelt birthday wishes and prayers, making the occasion a joyful and memorable one.

The programme concluded with a note of gratitude, encouraging all members to remain informed, responsible, and actively involved in matters concerning the Church and society.
