The Adult Choir Annual Meeting and Election was held on 6th July 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mini Hall of St. Lawrence Church & Shrine, Bondel.

The meeting was attended by Rev. Fr Basil Vas, Parish Priest and Shrine Rector; Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Priest; Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St Lawrence English Medium School and in-charge of the Adult Choir; and Dr Suraj Noronha, Choir Master.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Mr Ronald Nazareth, President of the Adult Choir. The dignitaries were welcomed with roses by the choir members.

The Annual Report was presented by Mrs Jasmine D’Souza, Secretary of the Adult Choir. This was followed by the election of the new office bearers. Ronald Nazareth was re-elected as President for a second term, while Jasmine D’Souza was re-elected as Secretary. Mrs Irene Dias was elected as the Joint Secretary.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr Basil shared valuable guidance on the implementation of the new Roman Missal, encouraging the choir members to prepare themselves both spiritually and liturgically for the changes. He also gave important instructions regarding the choir’s ministry and responsibilities.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Jasmine D’Souza. The meeting concluded with the hymn of St Cecilia, the patroness of church music. Refreshments were served to all the choir members who attended the meeting.
