The first Sunday session of “Life with a Purpose” was held after the 8:30 a.m. Holy Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr Roydon Misquith, SJ, Formator, Bejai Following the Mass, Fr Roydon conducted a special and inspiring session on “Living Life with a Purpose.”

The session focused on the importance of discovering God’s purpose in our lives and becoming the best person we can be. Fr Roydon beautifully explained this through the “Pencil Parable,” drawing simple yet profound lessons from the life of a pencil and relating them to our own journey.

The Five Lessons from the Pencil Parable

God’s hands: Allow yourself to be guided by God to do great things.

Challenges: Difficulties sharpen, strengthen and shape us.

Mistakes: Learn from your mistakes and always be ready to correct them.

What’s inside: Your heart, character and values matter most.

Leave a mark: Whatever the situation, leave a positive mark through your words, actions and service.

Through the beautiful Pencil Parable, we were reminded to:

✦ Allow ourselves to be held in God’s hands

✦ Let challenges strengthen and shape us

✦ Learn from and correct our mistakes

✦ Remember that what is within us matters most

✦ Leave a positive mark wherever we go

At the end of the session, Rector Rev. Fr Basil Vas expressed his gratitude to Fr Roydon Misquith, SJ, for sharing such an inspiring and thought-provoking message.

The session concluded with a prayer and hymn, bringing the first Sunday session of Life with a Purpose to a meaningful close.
