Indeed life is beautiful when the life in all its years is counted!

Senior citizens are the treasure of one’s home, of one’s country. Nazareth Niwas situated at Bondel is a home for the Elderly, where the presence of the senior citizens is valued and celebrated. It is a home to feel loved and cared.

We the Carmelite sisters of St Teresa(Csst) were glad to witness the enthusiasm of the senior citizens as we, along with the inmates and guests, celebrated the senior citizens’ day on 1st October,2016 at Nazareth Niwas,Bondel as we continue one of the noble missions of our foundress Mother Teresa of St Rose of Lima, a visionary and a great missionary.

Beginning the day with the Eucharistic celebration, we organised a fun and laughter filled gathering that included songs, dances, drama and jokes. It was a unique and memorable experience to see everyones faces lit up with happiness.

October 15, 2016 was another day of celebration. It was the birthday of St. Teresa of Avila, a Mystic and Reformer of the Order of the Carmel and the Woman Doctor of the Church. We had every reason to celebrate, to praise and to thank God for the gift of wonderful, daring and spiritual Saint Teresa of Avila who was mainly responsible for the renewal,reformation and expansion of the Carmelites throughout Spain.

The festivities commenced with solemn celebration of the Holy mass along with Fr. Joseph Martis and Fr. Anil D’souza. This was followed by a fellowship meal where all the inmates along with the guests enjoyed the companionship of each other. It was a time well spent and remembered by all.

May our sharing of this experience serve as an invitation to those who like to follow Christ and send Him as Carmelite sisters of St Teresa.
