The Evening  Novena began with the Eucharistic celebration with the theme “Word of God –Talents, an Inspiration to use and live for Christ”. The Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rupesh Madtha along with and Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo, Rev Fr. Ravi, Rev Fr. Leo Veigas, and Rev Fr. Charles. Special prayers were offered children and Youth.

In the homily, Rev. Fr. Rupesh said, “ If a word of man can motivate, break things, hurt people, curse then let us think how powerful will be the Word of God? His one Word can give life, calm the storm, Satan runs away such is the power of the Word of God. In life we have listened to the word of our elders and have reached great heights. If we would give the same importance to the Word of God, where would we reach?” he stated.

Explaining the power of the Word of God Fr Rupesh gave a testimony of the Word of God in his life saying, “I was not able to speak, and one day while reading the Word of God, I could feel the warmth and I started to speak, tears rolled down my eyes. This changed the course of my life, and now being a priest I preach the powerful Word of God to the faithful. Such effect the word can have” he highlighted.

The choir was led by Gurpur Church Choir Group. Bread was served to all the devotees who had come for the Novena.
