On Wednesday, 21st May 2025, Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza -Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves -Principal, Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha -Assistant Parish Priest, Mr John D’Silva -Vice President, Mr. Santhosh Misquith –Secretary Rev. Fr Ivan Peter Cordeiro Asst Manager Codialbail Press, and a few parishioners gathered in the church at 4:20 p.m. to bid farewell to Rev. Fr William D’Souza.
Rev. Fr Andrew led the gathering in prayer and extended his heartfelt wishes to Fr William for his future ministry. Gratefully acknowledging the support, Fr William then imparted his blessings to all those present, humbly asked them to keep him in their prayers, and expressed his sincere gratitude for the love and encouragement he received during his time in the parish.
At 5:00 p.m., Rev. Fr. William D’Souza was warmly welcomed at Father Muller Hospital, Kankanady, by Director Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, who greeted him with a bouquet of flowers. along with Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo Designate Director FMCI, the Chaplain’s, and the Fr Muller Office staff. The welcome ceremony program began with a prayer, following which Fr. William officially signed in as the new Assistant Administrator.
During the ceremony, Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Parish Priest of Bondel, spoke a few words in appreciation of Fr William’s active involvement and willingness to accept every assignment during his ministry at the parish. He noted that while parish ministry and institutional ministry differ, the dedication and spirit of service Fr William has shown will surely help him adjust well to the hospital environment. He extended his best wishes and assured him of continued prayers.
Fr William expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the parish clergy, especially Rev. Fr Andrew, for his paternal love, guidance, and unwavering support; to Fr Peter for his constant encouragement throughout his parish ministry; and to the parishioners of Bondel Parish. Humbly, he requested their continued prayers as he begins this new chapter of service.
In his welcome address, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Hospital, emphasized two key aspects vital for hospital ministry: availability and service. He encouraged Fr William to remain committed, assuring him of the full support and cooperation of the entire staff. Fr Richard Coelho also pledged his prayers for a fruitful and fulfilling ministry at the hospital.
The simple but meaningful welcome ceremony concluded with refreshments for all.
