Carmel Ward joyfully celebrated their ward feast on Sunday, July 13th. The celebration began with the Thanksgiving Mass at 7:00 a.m., during which the liturgy was meaningfully conducted by the ward members in gratitude for their patron, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Later, at 11:00 a.m., all ward members gathered at Alpha Plaza, Mary Hill Hall, for a fellowship gathering. The program began with age-wise group activities and games, which brought great joy to all participants.

At 12:00 p.m., the stage program began with a prayer invoking God’s blessings, followed by a warm welcome by the Ward Gurkarn, Mrs Veena Lobo, who greeted all the distinguished guests. The Ward Secretary, Mrs Janet Fernandes presented the annual report, highlighting the ward’s achievements and activities over the past year.

Distinguished guests present for the celebration included: Rev. Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza -Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves -Principal St Lawrence Eng. Med. School, Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha-Assistant Parish Priest, Mr John D’Silva -Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council), and Mr Santosh Misquith -Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council.

Also gracing the occasion were four religious sisters, the Superiors from different convents: Sr Frida Veronica – Veronica Vihar, Sr Suguna – Infant Jesus Convent, Sr Asha Prema – Vijay Mari Convent, Brothers from Bétharram

The Priests & Mr John D’Silva shared inspiring messages on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, encouraging all to live in faith and devotion to their patron. As a gesture of encouragement, four children from the ward who secured distinction marks (85% and above) in their academics were felicitated by the ward members.

Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the games conducted. The cultural program featured a captivating magic show by Mr Ronald Mascarenhas, along with vibrant dances, engaging skits, and melodious singing, all showcasing the remarkable talents of the ward members

Mr. Vinod Victor Patrao compered the entire program with great enthusiasm. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Kennedy D’Souza,

The event concluded with a joyful fellowship meal shared by all the ward members.The celebration was marked by unity, joy, and wholehearted participation from all members of Carmel Ward.
