On 11th April 2026, Saturday, at 5:00 p.m., the Divine Mercy Feast was solemnly celebrated at St Lawrence Church & Shrine Bondel.
The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St Lawrence English Medium School, with Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza the Parish Priest as the concelebrant. The liturgy was meaningfully led by the Divine Mercy Ward members.
During the homily, Fr Peter reflected deeply on the message of Divine Mercy, inspiring the faithful to trust in God’s infinite love and compassion.
Following the Mass, a reverent procession with the Divine Mercy image was led by Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha- Asst Priest and Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza within the church premises. The Divine Mercy Chaplet and hymns were sung, accompanied by prayers. The image was then placed in a place of honor in the church.
After the procession, the Blessed Sacrament was reverently venerated, followed by Adoration led by Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza. The faithful entered into a profound moment of prayer and surrender, placing their intentions before the Lord.
Prayers were offered for peace in the world, for those facing hardships, for the unemployed, and for loved ones working in Gulf countries, seeking God’s protection and abundant grace. Prayers were also lifted for PUC students who received their results, seeking guidance for their future, and in thanksgiving for blessings received.
The faithful remembered SSLC students awaiting their results, entrusting them to God’s loving care. United in faith, the faithful prayed for the sick and suffering, and for all gathered, that they may be renewed in God’s mercy and filled with His peace.
The Divine Mercy Feast was celebrated as a sacred outpouring of grace, drawing the parish community into a deeper encounter with God’s boundless mercy, strengthening their faith, renewing their hope, and filling their hearts with divine love.
