The Parish Commission for Bible of St Lawrence Church & Shrine, Bondel, in collaboration with the Commission for Bible, Diocese of Mangalore, successfully concluded the eight-day Bible course “God With Us” on the Gospel of Matthew on 30 July 2026.
The Bible classes were conducted by Rev. Dr Vincent Sequeira, Secretary, Commission for Bible, Diocese of Mangalore, in eight sessions. The course witnessed enthusiastic participation from parishioners, helping them deepen their understanding of the Gospel of Matthew.
The concluding programme began with Mr Alwyn Saldanha, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, who welcomed and introduced the resource person. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Dr Vincent Sequeira for his inspiring and enriching Bible classes.
This was followed by a testimony from participant winnifred Machado, who shared her experience and thanked the organizers and the resource person for helping participants grow in their knowledge and love of God’s Word.
In his address, Rev. Fr Basil Vas thanked the participants for their commitment and sincerely appreciated Rev. Dr Vincent Sequeira for his dedicated service to the parish. He also expressed the hope that similar Bible courses on the Gospels of Mark, Luke and John would be organized in the future.
In his response, Rev. Dr.Vincent expressed his joy at completing the course in the parish. He appreciated the participants for their keen interest and thirst for the Word of God and encouraged them to invite more people to join the forthcoming Bible courses on the other Gospels.
As a token of gratitude, Rev. Fr Basil Vas, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President John D’Silva, and Secretary Alwyn Saldanha presented a flower sapling to Rev. Dr Vincent.
The programme concluded with a thanksgiving prayer, distribution of certificates to all participants, and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the Bible course.
