Women commission, Women Association & Environment Commission Bondel Parish jointly Organized Environment Day Vruksha Vandana & Jala Bandhan (ವೃಕ್ಷ ವಂದನ್ ಆನಿ ಜಲ ಬಂಧನ್) on Sunday, 05 June 2022 at 4.30 p.m at ST Lawrence Church premises, Bondel Mrs. Avitha Mascarenhas President Women Commission welcomed the gathering. . The programme started with a prayer song, Enviro Friend event inaugurated through the watering plant.All guest were welcomed with the flower saplings.Guest of Honour Mr Jeeth Milan Roche. & Mr Pius Franky Menezes felicitated on the occasion with a shawl, garland , fruits. and flower bouquets. Environment is not everyone’s property to destroy, but it is everyone’s responsibility to take care of it, quoted Mr Jeeth Milan Roche, in his message. He inspired the gathering to take a pledge to protect and conserve the environment, nature. He concluded with the note that sensitivity to nature is everyone’s moral responsibility. Mr Pius Franky Menezes Speaking on the occasion, he said that in the backdrop of global warming, it is very important to focus on water conservation and spreading greenery. He urged people to be conscientious and plant saplings as well as grow trees.Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves- Director women Association, Rev Fr Lancy D’Souza Asst Parish Priest, Mr Reginald D’Souza Vice President, Mr Steevan Noronha –Secretary Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs Avitha Mascarenhas, Mr Herald Pinto were on dias. Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D”Souza – Parish Priest,in his inspiring message highlighted the significance of the day. He urged everyone to join hand in hand for this noble cause and to contribute in little ways to curb the destruction of the planet. Today, let’s pledge to help save the Earth by planting trees. He congratulated all the women Association members for the success of the programme.Few saplings were planted by the guests, members and participants of the event.Mr Herald Pinto Convener Environment Commission expressed the vote of thanks.
