A special and inspiring catechism session was conducted for the catechism students of St Lawrence Church & Shrine, Bondel, on 9 August 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St Lawrence english medium school Auditorium as part of the annual feast celebrations.
The session was led by Rev. Fr Rupesh Marta, PRO of the Diocese of Mangalore and Editor of Rakno Weekly. Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha introduced Fr Rupesh to the catechism students and welcomed him to the session.
Fr Rupesh conducted an engaging PowerPoint presentation focusing on five important lessons to help children grow both internally and externally and become confident, responsible and positive young people.

Choose the right friends – Surround yourself with friends who encourage you to become a better person.
Read, read, read – Develop the habit of reading and keep learning new things.
Do the right things always – Choose what is right, even when it may not be easy.
Find your own voice – Be confident in expressing yourself and discovering your unique gifts.
Do not be afraid to fail – Failure is not the end; it is an opportunity to learn, grow and try again.
The session was made lively and enjoyable through short stories, interactive moments and action songs, which helped the children understand and remember the lessons. The students participated enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoyed the session.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr Reena AC, who expressed gratitude to Fr Rupesh for his valuable time and inspiring message, and to everyone who contributed to making the session meaningful.
The special catechism session was a joyful and enriching experience, leaving the children motivated to make positive choices and grow in faith, wisdom and confidence.
