The first day of the Lenten Retreat began at 4:00 p.m. with a prayerful atmosphere of praise and worship, where the faithful gathered to open their hearts to the grace and presence of God.
The retreat was preached by Rev. Fr Cyril Lobo from Udupi, who led a profound and spirit-filled session reflecting on God’s living presence in our daily lives and the revelation of the Holy Spirit in the Holy Bible. Through his inspiring words, the faithful were reminded that the Holy Spirit continues to guide, strengthen, and transform our lives when we surrender ourselves to God. A large number of parishioners participated prayerfully, invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit and seeking spiritual renewal.
At 6:00 p.m., the Holy Eucharistic Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Cyril Lobo the source and summit of our faith. The Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Principal of St Lawrence English Medium School.
Following the Holy Mass, the Blessed Sacrament was solemnly exposed for Eucharistic Adoration. In the silent presence of the Lord, the faithful offered their prayers for their families, the Parish community, and for peace and blessings upon the whole world. It was a sacred moment of grace, inviting everyone to deepen their faith and draw closer to Christ.
At the conclusion, Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, the Parish Priest, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Fr Cyril Lobo for leading the retreat and helping the faithful rediscover God’s loving presence in their daily lives.
