The Novena began with Eucharistic Celebration with the theme “Word of God – Aid to live a life of Simplicity”. The Eucharistic Celebration celebrated by Rev. Fr. Aquin O. P.  along with Rev. Fr. Stervin, Rev. Fr. Leo Veigas, Rev Fr. Charles and Rev Fr. Ravi. Special prayers were offered for The Missionaries.

In the homily Rev. Fr. Aquin said, “In the modern times living a life of simplicity and humbleness is of great difficulty, because there is pride and ego. If we have no simplicity we are like the egg shell which is of no use to anyone. In the Gospel we can see that Jesus preached in the open “I am kind and gentle of heart” and gave a call to be the same. Giving the example of Pope Francis himself, who said, “bless me first and pray for me, only then I will be able to bless you” is the sign of simplicity.”

“Jesus set us an example by saying washing the feet of his own Apostles and told them to do so, we being Christians are called to do the same. Mother Mary was simple and humble and accepted gods will in our life a life of humbleness and simplicity” He said.

The choir was led by Ferar Church choir group. Lunch was provided to all the devotees who had come for the Novena.
